Overview

Most founders don't need more hustle. They need more room to think.

You started your business to do the work you love — not to be buried in admin, chasing the same tasks every week.

Longtable helps you take the repetitive, time-sapping parts of your business and hand them to systems that quietly get on with it. So you get your time, and your head, back.

How we help

A few of the ways
we work together.

We only work with construction, manufacturing, and design business owners we believe we can genuinely add value to. That means the conversation starts with you — your business goals, the clients you serve, and the team culture you're cultivating. Once we understand where you're headed, we can tell you honestly whether we're the right advisory partner to help you get there.

Consultancy — the plan

We map out where AI can genuinely help your business, and where it won't. A clear plan, shaped around your priorities, your people and your existing workflows.

Implementation — the build

We don't hand over a strategy and walk away. We build the systems, connect the tools, and make sure the work actually gets done.

Training — bringing the team along

The best tools fail if people don't use them. We train your team so they feel confident, capable, and ready to lead with the technology.

Governance — keeping it safe and working

We put guardrails in place so your AI stays reliable, secure, and aligned with the way you do business. Safety built in from the start.

Sectors

Built for construction, manufacturing & design.

We work with owner-led businesses where craft, people and margin all matter. The sectors below are where we've seen AI make the biggest, calmest difference.

Construction

AI for construction

From estimating and tender prep to RFIs, programme updates and site reporting — we help construction firms, joinery and fit-out teams cut admin and protect margin without losing the craft.

  • Estimating, take-offs and quoting
  • Drawings, RFIs and submittals
  • Site reports, snagging and handover packs

Manufacturing

AI for manufacturing

We work with small-batch and bespoke manufacturers to streamline production admin, quoting, scheduling and supplier comms — so your team can spend more time on the bench and less on the back office.

  • Quoting, BOMs and order intake
  • Production scheduling and capacity
  • Supplier, stock and compliance admin

Design

AI for design studios

Architecture, interior and product design studios sit on a goldmine of past work. We help you put that to work — speeding up specifications, client decks, FF&E schedules and studio operations.

  • Specifications and FF&E schedules
  • Client decks, proposals and reports
  • Studio operations and knowledge capture

Approach

Good work is built, not rushed.

Think of a fine piece of furniture. It isn't thrown together — it's measured, jointed and finished with care, using the right tools for each cut.

Your business deserves the same. We don't bolt on shiny gadgets and hope. We look at how you actually work, then build something that fits — and lasts.

About

Built by someone who runs businesses too.

I'm Tom. Alongside Longtable I run a joinery fit-out business, so I know what it's like to juggle the work, the team and the admin all at once.

I've seen how AI used in the right way can unlock your people to achieve more and create space for a healthy culture. We are now a leaner company with more focus on what drives the business forwards, and how we can better serve our clients.

Longtable is the help I wish I'd had in the process - practical, honest, and on your side.

"Pull up a chair. There's room at the table."

Questions

The things owners usually ask.

What does an AI consultancy actually do for a construction, manufacturing or design business?

We help owners and founders work out where AI can genuinely save time, reduce admin and tighten margins — then we build, integrate and roll it out with your team. Think estimating, quoting, project admin, scheduling, RFIs, drawings management, supplier comms and reporting — the unglamorous work that quietly drains hours every week.

How is Longtable different from a typical AI consultant?

Longtable is people-first. We come from a construction and joinery fit-out background, so we understand site realities, trades, sub-contractors and the way design and manufacturing teams actually work. We don't sell strategy decks — we plan, build, train and govern, then stay close while it beds in.

Do you only work with UK construction and manufacturing companies?

We're based in the UK and work mostly with British construction, manufacturing and design studios — joinery, fit-out, fabrication, architecture, interior design and small-batch manufacturing. We're happy to talk to founders elsewhere if the fit feels right.

What size of business is Longtable a good fit for?

Owner-led businesses, typically 5 to 150 people, where the founder is still close to the work. That's where AI, well applied, makes the biggest difference to culture, capacity and profitability.

Is AI safe to use in a construction or manufacturing business?

It is when it's set up properly. Our governance work puts sensible guardrails around data, access, client confidentiality and quality — so the tools stay reliable, secure and aligned with how you actually do business.
